Welcome to Moto Therapy Apparel. My name is Don Huddleston.
I started riding motorcycles in 1974 at the age of 15. My first bike was a 1973 Kawasaki KE 100 G5 Enduro. I was so excited! I immediately took off the lights, blinkers and mirrors. I would sit on it and start it up again and again… I could hardly wait to go riding for the first time on my very own bike.
Like most teenage boys, I soon wanted and needed more power; so a year later I bought a new 1975 Husky 360 CR. In 1980, my girlfriend and soon to be wife, Linda, bought a new Kawasaki KDX 175. Weekends were spent going riding in the Southern California deserts with family and friends. We would ride all day, eat dinner and sit around the campfire and bench race. We were living large sleeping in the back of a 1977 Chevy truck with a camper shell and a carpet kit. We could also be found at Corona Raceway, Saddleback Park, Carlsbad Raceway, and Mammoth Mountain racing Motocross and Grand Prixs. There is nothing better than sitting on the starting line next to your buddies anxiously anticipating the gate drop. (Do not forget to make sure your gas is turned on, "Friends" can be very sneaky.) One thing is for sure, bragging rights both mine and my buddies’ last for a lifetime!
My mom, Lois, was a surgery nurse for 37 years and did not like us riding motorcycles. Go figure. One summer she was visiting my brother Tim in Idaho. He took her for her first ride on a borrowed bike at the young age of 76. They went on a weekend ride to Sisters, Oregon. She loved it so much she wanted to buy her own bike so he could take her on rides every time she visited. She then started hounding Linda and me (like only a mother can) to buy a bike and join them. We did not ride street bikes because she brainwashed us (since birth) on how dangerous they are. Eventually we joined them on a ten day loop up into Canada. We were hooked. Mom would say “Let’s ride! Where’s our next ride?” We bought a 2003 Honda Goldwing and developed a passion for riding in the western half of the United States with my mom and brother. 60,000 miles later she went on her last ride to one of her favorite places, Glacier National Park in Montana. Truthfully anywhere was a favorite place for her.
We recently sold our dirt bikes and now only ride the Goldwing. When we roll our motorcycle out of the garage we feel that same excitement we did 40+ years ago when we got our first motorcycles.
Moto Therapy Apparel is all about our passion for riding. It is in our DNA. LIFE IS NOW! Get on your bike and go riding.
